Living Ayurveda

Diving into the healing system of Ayurveda requires us to go deeper within. To tune into the silence. Withdraw from the sense of outward sight and learn from our inner wisdom. IN SIGHT.

Ayurveda is all around us. It is the wind, the rain, the mountains and the sound of the birds singing. Ayurveda is present right now in your heart and soul, in the nature.

Ayurveda is on the rise in the West in particular, but is not new. It's the oldest and most continually practiced healing system in the world and translates from Sanskrit literally to the Wisdom of Life.

Ayurveda is considered to be the sister-science to yoga and is based on the 5 elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space/Ether.

With a deep understanding of these 5 elements and how they apply to our bodies we can create diet and lifestyle choices that allow us to work in harmony with the natural rhythms of life - our inner seasons and external seasons.

Every human being has a Prakruti. A nature. A unique constitution decided at the moment of conception that stays with us our entire lives. Discovering our own Prakruti and Dosha (our own unique make up of the 5 elements) and making choices according to it, is the basis of following an Ayurvedic lifestyle.

The three doshas -

VATA - Air and Space/Ether

PITTA - Fire and Water

KAPHA - Water and Earth

Finding your Nature/Prakruti/Dosha is a slow and in depth process but it's important to remember, no matter whether we are Pitta dominant, hold a lot of Kapha in the body, or tend towards Vata, we all hold the 5 elements within us and our aim of working with Ayurveda is to find the balance that works with us and for us.

All Ayurvedic medicine is offered to us by Mother Nature and all treatments are aimed at targeting the root cause of any dis-ease (Vikruti) in your body and works on eliminating it before again, helping to restore balance and harmony to your body, mind and soul. Returning you to your Prakruti, your nature.
