A good friend of mine told me she was feeling broken down by life recently. Another friend told me he looked in the mirror and felt like a failure.
I hear and see these harmful, inadequate terms being used all around us to describe real, complex human experience and pain. I would love for us to detach from this negative vocabulary!
What if, we simply erase this concept of ever being broken? What if we stop using words like, 'heartbroken'
'in pieces'
'feeling broken down by life'
and the big one, 'failure.'
What if, instead of breaking at all we are simply going deeper?
Deeper into the ocean of our being.
What if, we are never breaking, we are simply breaking the glass we have outgrown, that was holding us in?
Imagine the beauty of this idea!
Of adopting a more loving communication with ourselves and others.
Of allowing ourselves to sink deeper into our own depths.
The uncovering.
The surrender to the process of growth no matter how uncomfortable it feels at the time.
There are so many layers of yourself to discover in this human life. Never let this discovery be limited by a fear of failure put on you by ANYBODY.
Let me say that again. You, are never really breaking. You my love, are the ocean, you cannot break. You are breaking the glass that can no longer contain you. We don't belong in a glass. We break the glass. Allow yourself to fall in and meet the ocean like a long lost sister. Boundless expansion. So, the next time you feel a breaking in your life, know it is not you, it's the shattering of yet another glass you have outgrown.
